Artsy-Craftsy

The "THINGY!" In question.
I've been feeling a bit Artsy-Craftsy lately. For the last 3-or-so months I've collected disks from old hard drives for something. I didn't have much of an inkling of an idea for what I wanted to do with them, I just wanted them. They're reflective and I like 'em. Don't judge me!

I thought I'd do something with them at some point, and finally I did! I made a thingy to hang from high places :P I don't know what I made, I have seen stuff with the same style but if you recognise it please let me know what it is. Thank you! So I used fishing wire to connect it all, 2 disks (as you can see), a wee little disco ball (seriously, just open your eyes, it's there clear as day), a mysterious oceanic beast's spinal bone, and that blue stone on the right. The stone was a gift from my dear younger sister, the disco ball from my parents, and I found the bone on a beach some years back. Adventuring off on my own if I remember correctly!

I want to make something with this kinda feel
For my next trick, I think I'd like to create a ridiculous mirror of confusion. Yes, that would please me... I shall string the remaining disks together expertly and precisely for the most discombobulating mirror you've never seen. I will put a picture of it on my blog when I succeed!

If you have any other good ideas before I butcher them all, I'd appreciate the input (by butcher, I mean drill them full of holes. That's the idea, then string 'em up). I don't explore this creativity inside of me all that often so I suspect it may turn out fairly ridiculously. But as long as I have fun doing it then there shouldn't be any issues! If you think there is an issue with that, don't tell me! I don't need that kind of negativity in my life.

Yours faithfully in the written word

Manga days

Manga are Japanese comic books and novels, aimed both at adults and children. They're actually quite similar to comics really, and (unless they've been mirrored) will be read from right to left. Manga is super entertaining! I don't read much unless I have pictures in-between all the wordy-words, and I indulge in manga for hours upon hours! I lose track of time digitally flipping through the pages until I've read every chapter up-to-date.

What I assume these illiterate students do.
-"Yes! The answer was 'STICK MAN'!"
-"Score!"
So I'm not normally an avid reader, I have read only 2 or 3 non-pictured books. Let's see... One was "The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents", and the other one was "Only You Can Save Mankind". Good books, I can still remember a little bit of those stories! To be fair though, I was FORCED to read them! My primary school was afraid that we would advance into High School without having the capacity to read. Yes, you read correctly (if you aren't illiterate). It is apparently possible to pass grade 7 without reading. Personally I found those final exams to have a few too many written words in them, it boggles my mind - perhaps if you correctly guessed the question and drew an accurate picture of the answer, they might mark leniently?

Anyways, I made it to High School and even passed it with flying colors so I'm fine and I read good lol.

Gamer at <3

That great One Piece game is as fun and chaotic in co-op as I'd hoped it would be, I convinced Jess to play with me yesterday. To my joyful surprise, she enjoyed the game as well! I struggled to get both controllers to work at first and I had to play with the tiny Num Pad. Even though I completely lost track of the controls, I still had fun :P I made them both work after that for Mucho Grande Fun times!

Singing in the rain

Remember that time before you had a cellphone, a wallet and a laptop, and being in the rain was fun? When the miracle of water falling from the sky filled you with joy? I do! Back in my day, before I worried about my cell short-circuiting, I'd run joyfully through the showers! Taking it in and drinking the drops that land on my lips.
I don't even need an umbrella!
These days I mostly just love the rain when it isn't causing me any inconveniences. When the extra moisture doesn't trip our old house's fragile distribution board, and the lightning doesn't blow up the sub-station. That's kinda sad... Next time it rains and it's warm I'm leaving my tech in the house or the car and going for a walk! As long as it's during the day, 'cause I don't wanna get mugged! Boy, they'd be disappointed if they mugged me on that day...

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3!

I NEED TO PLAY IT!
RIGHT NOW!
WHY DO I HAVE TO WORK!? :(

I started playing that P.C. game yesterday and it's awesome! It has every character to date and starts you off from the very beginning of the story. That's a 700 episode long anime saga put into a single game! 240 hours of an epic adventure boiled into a game for me to devour! Woohoo! I only just started but I love it so far. And it has a co-op story mode, so I really want someone to play with me :P

You're even able to play as all the other characters, including Luffy's brother, Ace. If you know the anime, you're probably as thrilled as I am about that! If you haven't watched it then there's no time like the present!

And now for a poem:
I've lived many lives
In games I have played
If I could be playing one right now
You wouldn't have had to read this terrible poem.
It's really quite bad, I know, you want me to stop typing but I just keep going.
The end.
Psyche!
I really got you there, didn't I?
But alas, the end is nigh.
Good bye.

Happy Friday everybody, enjoy the coming weekend!

Dead hobos

I was THIS CLOSE! To killing a hobo today. I was driving up a hill and had to accelerate, he was walking across the road at his own pace (very very very slow)(I'll add one more "slow" to give you a good idea of how slowly he was going!). So I used my brilliant skills of deduction to judge that he would clear my vehicle in time. He had looked directly at me a number of times, so when he stopped walking only 1 metre in front of me I can only assume he suddenly went BLIND and STUPID! Fortunately he left just enough of a gap between me and the car in the opposing lane. With my swift thinking and nimble fingers I took advantage of that gap and killed no-one!

If drivers' reflexes were a little slower, I dare say there'd be a lot more road-killed hobos on our dangerous streets. So please drive carefully my fellow motor-vehicle drivers! Blood is a bloody pain in the neck to clean off your bumper. Or so I hear...

A cookie for my pretties!

You look adorable! "No don't eat me!"
To everyone that spoke up about their hidden identities, their super-hero names, in my post (Hair! An on-growing tail...), A Cookie! As promised. I couldn't decide on the best name, so to make it fair, I shall eat the cookie. Nom nom nom. "Thank you" be to my loyal followers for participating, even though I get the biggest cookie, you each may have a smaller cookie! Still chocolaty and delicious!
1 for Wolf Girl, 1 for KATastrophe, 1 for Grammy, and 1 for Sergeant Major Mom.
And another 36 for me! Mwahahahaha!
I might get fat if I keep this up... Meh! Who cares, I'm living on the edge! Of obesity. With excitement!

BenjaMAN!

Another missed post, a little more guilt

Life tends to pick up the pace sometimes, it really catches you off guard... Smacks you around a little, you know how it is. And that is my grand excuse for skipping Monday's post! My apologies to all my readers that are up-lifted from their sad Monday blues when they learn of my grand exploits, I will try to not fail you next time. I promise! (that I will try)

I've still got it!

I know. I'm too young to think that I've lost it. But man, what a rush to your ego when a complete stranger tells you that you have a "Beautiful face"! She then ran off blushing. I'm sexy and I know it B)
And I'm full of myself. It's true...

More life-or-death animal informations!

As your loyal informations informant, let's talk about Kitty-cats, Woof-woofs, Ponies, Moo-ers, and Hamsters. I know you've been waiting patiently for this vital info!

What every cat EVER has thought of you
Lots of human beans like to keep Kitty-cats and Woof-woofs as pets. I would know, being a human bean with pets too. The Kitty-cat, aka Kitties and Me-ows, are a cold-hearted species of horrific horrors. They murder helpless animals for sport! Mostly pesky vermin that we don't want around anyway, but none-the-less they kill without mercy! They are also known to feast on the joy of the beans that look after them. They do this very efficiently, by causing you happiness with their attention-seeking nature and warm fuzzy fur. They trick your puny bean-like human bean brain into believing you want to pet them before they devour that happiness right out of you! Viciously!

Woof-woofs are indeed lovely creatures though. They funnel their own happiness into your life at their own expense, they're positively precious! But only if they like you! If it doesn't look like they like you, RUN!

That guy on the right is so convincing! :D
Ponies and Moo-ers! They are actually the same thing! The milk you drink is from selectively bred ponies, especially fat ones. Moo-ers, aka cows, do NOT exist! It's all a ruse to get you to buy the milk. Would you willingly drink pony milk? Probably not! Since ancient times, our corporate leaders have been lying to us about milk. They've built vast fields of lies! Literally! Those things that look like cows? NOT COWS! The farmers dress their children up as the fat mythical beasts and have them roam the fields. Corporate lies...

Hamsters are fine. No worries there. Perhaps a choking hazard of you don't chew properly, but I wouldn't say they're a cause for concern.

Stay safe and positively good-looking,
Yours in writing

FEAR Can be over-come! But how?

So many people tell you that fear is simply an obstacle to be defeated - that you can show your fears who's boss! I don't know how. Scary things scare me! Not knowing what's happening frightens me most of the time. The idea that something could change my life, no matter how insignificant, is a scary one to have when I don't know how it'll happen. It's got an element of excitement too, but mostly that deep-dark-relentlessly-scary-&-intimidating fear!

I am unhappy with work. (anything I say from here-on-out is something you can not quote me on! Because that could get me into shit. Pretend I'm lying about the following things I say. As my reader, you know that I wouldn't lie to you, right? But for my sake let's pretend I am) I am currently - or not currently - being made to work every other Sunday. (Yes, they ask if I can work, but by saying "No" when no-one else is able to would pretty much be telling my boss-lady that I don't care about the business and I want to quit...). I miss my weekends, this is getting ridiculous! Speaking of fear, I'm afraid I'll leave here before I find another job, and have no income. Scary!!!

I've been reading up on the following website for labour laws. Click here: HERE! <--- Click on that! The one that says "here"! It explains (in layman's terms) the laws by which all businesses in S.A. should be governed. Informative! Haha, you can actually press on any 'here' that you want, I linked them all to the page! Here again, so go check it out there! (yes, I even stuck one into the word "there", since is says 't-here')
The logo of the Department of labour of S.A.
Obviously.

More on fear - and how to "Deal with it."

One or two basic tips on the matter that I may be so bold as to suggest:
  • Remain calm, and think things through carefully. Assess the situation as best you can. Ask yourself: "Is this a rational fear?". If it's not, Deal with it. You don't think it's rational so what's there to be afraid of?
  • If that fear is irrational and you find that you can not Deal with it, you may have a phobia. I can't help with that.
  • And if that fear is crippling, then don't move! Oh wait... You should move! Try to change your angle, see it from a different point of view.
  • Ask for advice from friends and family, they just might have some insight on the matter which can help to pull you through.
Well that's really all I've got, I suck at handling fear. I tense up and freak out, panic and sh*t myself. Not a good role model in this regard.

Although, having said that, here's what always helps me. Support!
My loving family being loving, my caring girlfriend being caring, my nosy friends being nosy! (And ultimately helping me) And really any support where I can find it. So support your family and friends, they need you more than you know.

So tiny and horrifyingly... Pudgy! NOOO!
Run away! Hurry! AAAH!
P.S. Sorry for the super late post, I wasn't in a good place for writing things the last few days.

Benjamin, signing- AAAH! SPIDER!!!

Daily battles with fear

As they say: "Scared as an egg"
Something scares me nearly every day. A little or a lot, either way I get frightened easily. For instance! There was a customer that bought a P.C. from me yesterday. Software included, it was a hefty sale. He was happy, we were happy, he left. Early this morning he came in and asked if he could swap his desktop for a laptop. WHY!? Because his wife wanted him to purchase something "mobile"... Leaving aside the fact that he didn't consult his handler prior to buying a heftily-priced P.C., this scared me because I wasn't even sure what to do :1 I told him I'd need to consult the Great and Mighty Boss-lady on the matter.

I know it's a situation that is not riddled with despair or suffering, in the worst case scenario I just have to receive the desktop and book out a laptop. I get scared anyway! Stoopid worrisome brain. I bet I'm just scared of the trouble it'll cause me, thanks to my extreme laziness. Good news is the guy came back, after consulting his handler, and all is well. The solution lay with all their existing mobile devices (e.g. her laptop, their phones and tablets... They'll be fine). He took a WiFi dongle to avoid cluttered LAN cables on the walls and left us as a Happy Chappie. Yay! I narrowly avoided a mildly irritating situation. Smooth B)

To keep some form of consistency for the week, I shall write more on the subject of fear in my next post!

More of a hobby, to be accurate

A sustainable schedule!

You will have to wait for that next post!!! From today onwards I shall aim to update 3 times weekly! Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Why? Because I wanna. Firstly, it's tricky to get a post out every day. Secondly, I need to actually do stuff to blog about! So I'm taking the weekends off too, I get laziest on those 2 days :P

If you have a problem, take it up with life. Life is unfair though... Don't expect to get a friendly response. Life can also be a little b***h at times, so don't take it personally!

Yours truly in the written word,
Benjamin- HOORAH!
